WOW WEDNESDAY – 6/3/09

Good Day!  A very common word that I use quite often is WOW!  I use it often because I find myself awe struck or speechless over the most incredible things.  For some, what I find WOW and wonderment in may be mundane and simple things for them.  I’ve been labled over the years as a “Polyanna”, “Gidget”, “Goody-two-shoe”, and one who looks through rose-colored glasses.  So be it!  Trust me, I have my moments and I know that life is not perfect and believe me when I tell you that even as I type this, I am experiencing extreme, difficult, and frightening times.  You have no idea the pressure I’m under and what I’m facing (it’s terrible) – but I CHOOSE to still face this day and say WOW, look at the goodness of God!  I choose to stand in awe of His glory and magnificence.  I am praising Him and lifting His name even through my difficult times.

Today, and every day, you and I can both shout WOW!  Join me in thanking Him for this day and for every moment He gives us to enjoy His blessings.

Wow!

“This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”  Psalm 118:24 (NIV)

“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.   They are new every morning;  Great is Your faithfulness.”   Lamentations 3:22-23 (NKJV)

“Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. “  Psalm 30:4-5 (NKJV)

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
         From whence comes my help?
 2 My help comes from the LORD,
         Who made heaven and earth.

 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
         He who keeps you will not slumber.
 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
         Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

 5 The LORD is your keeper;
         The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
 6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
         Nor the moon by night.

 7 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil;
         He shall preserve your soul.
 8 The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
         From this time forth, and even forevermore.”  Psalm 121 (NKJV)

LYRICS TO ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS, “HOW GREAT THOU ART”:

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

Wow!

Blessings!
