Good Morning! Yesterday was a pretty emotionally charged day for me. It wasn’t a bad day; just one of those when all you want is to submerge into a nice soothing bath and say “Calgon, take me away!” Stuff happens. Sometimes you just want to escape from it all.
People often shrug away from the word “stewardship”. Too often we believe that it is something that is too difficult for us to master, or that it’s all about money. We don’t like difficult things and we definitely do not like to part with “our” money. Don’t be dismayed, I am not writing this to suggest that you attempt something that is not easy for you to accomplish, nor is this about “your” money. Yet, it is about stewardship.
What, then, is stewardship? A working definition I choose to live by is simple:
Stewardship is what you do with what you’ve been given.
Every one of us is graced with potential. Every soul was born and equipped with seeds that should grow into greatness. Although the seed was planted, and it’s inate, we also play a part in it’s development and manifestation.
