If you were running for political office, it would help if you had some strong backing and support of influential people behind you.  If you were playing a game and your opponent was bigger and stronger than you, it would be nice to have someone even bigger and better on your side.  If you were in a fight, it might mean the difference between life and death to have the right people on your side.  If you were to walk in court with everything against you, it would be beneficial to have the best defense team on your side.

Life is all of this and more.  It’s a race, a game, a fight, and opposition.  Isn’t it good to know that God is on your side?

I am praising God for being on my side.  There is so much against me right now and obstacles are surrounding me on every hand.  The odds are definitely stacked against me and so far, everywhere I’ve gone, I’ve been told “I can’t help you.”  I’m facing what I see as my fiery furnace, and just like the three Hebrew boys, I know that my God is able to deliver me.  I am so happy that He is on my side.  When we walk into that furnace on Friday, just like He stood by them, He will stand by us.  Just that fact alone lets me know that everything will be okay, because God is on my side.
